JOB VACANCY: GYM INSTRUCTOR/LIFEGUARD
Nanyuki Sports Club is seeking a motivated and energetic Gym Instructor/Lifeguard to join our team. The successful candidate will support members in achieving their fitness goals while maintaining a safe, welcoming and professional gym environment. The role will also require the ability to assist with basic lifeguard duties at the swimming pool when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide members on the safe and effective use of gym equipment
- Develop and assist with personalized fitness programs for members
- Assist members with proper exercise techniques.
- Conduct and lead engaging group classes.
- Conduct basic fitness assessments where required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gym area and equipment
- Promote a positive and motivating fitness environment
- Ensure adherence to safety and club policies
- Enhance member engagement through interaction and promote fitness programs.
- Assist in monitoring activities at the swimming pool and support lifeguard duties when required
- Report incidents, injuries or hazards to the management.
- Promote safe use of the pool facilities and respond appropriately in case of emergencies
Requirements
- Certification in Fitness Instruction, Personal Training or a related field
- Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certification is required.
- Previous experience in a gym or fitness environment is an added advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for fitness, health and member wellbeing
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individuals to lead our team and ensure the seamless operation of our facilities.
Position: Club Secretary
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of club operations, including staffing, membership services, event management, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance member satisfaction
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost control measures to achieve profitability and financial sustainability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and a positive team culture.
- Foster strong relationships with members, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or feedback promptly and professionally.
- Plan and coordinate club events, activities, and programs that align with member interests and promote engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments of club operations and facilities to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the club, hospitality, or leisure industry.
- Bachelor Degree in hospitality management or Business Administration a must. Master degree an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and staff development.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies related to club membership growth.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
